The International Ethno-Jazz Festival is with you for the 13th time! This year too we believe that we have prepared an excellent program. The festival has hosted in last years over 50 artists from over 10 countries from Europe, Asia, North America and South America. We’re introduced a number of significant foreign and domestic names, among them some really top world artists. We have endeavored to provide a broad spectrum of music, from classical to modern jazz, from ethno music to the latest ethno jazz achievements.
The greatest pleasure was to bring this rich music world closer to our audience, which we will continue to do with joy. This year the Festival is held again in the Old Town of Dubovac, but in case of bad weather the concerts will be held in the Zorin Dom City Theater.

Ralph Towner – a guitarist, a pianist and a composer, a true jazz legend. He has
recorded a large number of albums, some of them being anthologies. He collaborated with many of the greatest names in the jazz world.
Born in 1940 in Chehalis, Washington, he began his career as a classical pianist. In the 1960s he started playing the guitar. His performance has been influenced by various ethno cultures, and his work has been well marked in that way. He founded the legendary Oregon group in 1970s which has released a series of highly influential albums in that period, combining folk music, Indian shapes, and free jazz improvisation. At the same time, Towner started a longstanding relationship with the famous ECM publishing house that has released a large number of his albums.
He is so significant in the world of music, his biography and discography are so great that we can mention here just some of the greats with whom he worked: Weather Report, Egberto Gismonti, Gary Peacock, Jan Garbarek, Larry Coryell … The classical guitar is still a rare occurrence in jazz. Regarding this, Ralph Towner is one of the music innovators. After the Solo concert in Porec in 2012 and the Oregon 2015 concert in Lisinski Small Hall, we are proud and happy to be able to announce that Ralph Towner will perform at the Karlovac festival. He will play solo a classical guitar.
